At the recently held Fete With The Saints All-Inclusive Carnival Fete hosted by the St. Mary’s College Past Students’ Union, patrons made contributions to a fund designed to provide a measure of relief to the people of Haiti.
Patrons attending the fete contributed the sum of $11,414 and as promised by the Past Students’ Union, this sum was matched by the organisation. The total of $22,828 will be pooled with donations being made by the students and teachers of the college, with the grand total representing a contribution from the St. Mary’s College community.
Earlier this week, Roberto Ramirez, chairman of the Fete With The Saints Organising Committee, handed over a cheque for $22,828 to Vice-Principal of the College, Mr. Nigel Joseph. The Vice-Principal thanked the Past Students’ Union for their initiative in raising the money to assist the people of Haiti in their moment of need.
